The Purple & White: Why did you decide to come to Millsaps?
Beverly Holmes: Coach Winkelman recruited me, and I loved the program… his passion and the team. I liked the academics as well.

P&W: What do you contribute your success to?
BH: Definitely the team… I have great teammates who always push me to get better and great coaches who help me get better. And hard work.

P&W: How did it feel to win the Southern Athletic Conference Player of the Week?
BH: It’s always nice to get an award, but it wasn’t really something I wanted to dwell on. We still have a lot of games left in conference. I’m just more focused on the team and getting better and improving one day at a time. The award is nice, but it’s definitely a team effort.IMG_7413

P&W: Do you have any pregame rituals?
BH: Yes I do—a lot of work in the training room trying to get myself ready.

P&W: What are your expectations for the rest of the season?
BH: My expectations for the rest of the season are probably just to get better everyday and work really hard, and we’ll be successful.IMG_6171
