Meet the Millsapian: Rebecca Falls

by Courtney Cleveland

This week, The Purple and White met with Rebecca Falls, a sophomore from Greenwood, Mississippi. She is an accounting major who loves to play soccer.

The Purple and White: What made you come to Millsaps?

Rebecca Falls: Academics, and my dad and my grandmother went here. They had a really good accounting program, so I knew I wanted to come. Soccer was a plus, but it wasn’t the main factor.

P&W: What’s your favorite part of campus?

RF: The Bowl, but I feel like that’s everyone’s, though. I think that’s the best-selling feature of Millsaps.

P&W: What’s your favorite memory on campus?

RF: I’m so bad at this. I would say my favorite memory on campus… I guess my Bid Day freshman year (Falls is a member of Kappa Delta Sorority). It was a great day.

P&W: What organizations are you involved in on campus?

RF: Kappa Delta, CS (community service) Chair, and I’m on the council on the circle of sisterhood. I still help out with the soccer team, I’m just not a player, and I’m a student worker for the track coach.

P&W: What’s your favorite book?

RF: Oh, that’s a hard one. The Outlander; I love that. I’m reading that series right now.

P&W: If you won the lottery, what would you do with the earnings?

RF: I would travel around the world for sure, and then I would help my parents pay off any loans or anything. Then I’d make a really big donation to prevent child abuse in America.

P&W: Is there something popular now that annoys you?

RF: Annoys me… What do you mean? Like a modern society thing?

P&W: Yeah, just anything.

RF: Hmm… Oh, that stupid “how bout dat” or whatever, that girl. It makes me so mad that you can say that and do things like that and become popular. I hate that so much.

P&W: What was your favorite thing to do as a child?

RF: I loved to swing.

P&W: Same. Okay, tell me about your most embarrassing moment.

RF:One time I created an animal. It was like a rhinoceros… I put a dinosaur and rhinoceros together and said “rhinosaur” and all my friends made fun of me. We were talking about what could go up against an 18-wheeler and I said, “Oh a ‘rhinosaur,’” and everyone made fun of me from that point on. I tried to reason and say I had a bigger imagination than they did, but they just didn’t accept it.

P&W: Oh my goodness. Well, last question, what three words best describe you?

RF: Heart, determined, and a goober.

The Purple and White thanks Rebecca for helping us this week! If you or someone you know who like to be featured in the next “Meet the Millsapian” article, email me at clevecd@millsaps.edu.
