Cherub

On April 23, the electro-pop duo known as Cherub is performing at Jackson’s own Hal & Mal’s. Cherub says its goals are to modernize the sound of timeless artists such as Prince, whose influence can easily be heard in its music, and to “share a little bit of sex, a little bit of drugs and a whole lot of love with people around the globe.” The resulting sound is incredibly distinctive, upbeat and fun. This up-and-coming duo is not only a show worth seeing, but one that Millsaps students in particular are sure to enjoy, based on the results of our previous music survey.

Cherub managed to gain publicity primarily through its song “Doses and Mimosas.” It has taken off since then, performing at major music festivals such as Bonnaroo, SXSW and Hangout Fest. Lucky for us, the duo decided to come to Jackson as well. Tickets are $12, with an extra $3 charge to anyone under age 21download (16)
